Limited edition print of the complete mixed media painting made for use on the gatefold album cover of David Sylvian’s Gone To Earth double album of 1986.
The print, has been made from a high-resolution scan of the original 5” x 4” colour transparency of the actual painting used for the album’s cover, hence the slight difference in colour to that of the originally produced album cover.
Archival inks on Hahnemühle Museum Etching Watercolour 350gsm,
100% Cotton, Natural White paper.
Signed and numbered by the artist.
Slight colour variations are inevitable due to the various methods and devices used for display.

I stared at this artwork for years as a teenager, obsessively, as I listened to the Sylvian album on endless repeat. I bought every possible version of the album I could, just in an attempt to find a better reproduction of the artwork. Finally having an actual print of this artwork, in high quality, signed by Mills, is absolutely a life goal fulfilled. I am grateful to be able to see this on my wall every day. And like the music it represented on the cover, it rewards both a quick, surface-level glance, as well as deeper repeated inspections. Endlessly fascinating.
